Tape-in hair — real hair for sale

Tape-in hair is a popular semi-permanent method that offers a flat and discreet bond. At Hairland, we process natural hair into tape-in tapes to order — exactly according to the length, color and density you need. The result is natural and comfortable for all-day wear.

How tape-in processing works

From natural hair, we arrange the creation of tape-in tapes with hypoallergenic adhesive with a verified partner. Tapes are applied using the sandwich method — two tapes wrap around a strand of your own hair. Application by a stylist takes 30–60 minutes.

1

Ultra-flat bond

Tape-in tapes are thin and invisible, you cannot feel them even by touch.

2

Quick application

The entire application by a stylist takes only 30–60 minutes.

3

Comfortable wear

The flat bond does not interfere with everyday activities, you can exercise and sleep comfortably.

4

Reusable re-taping

The same tapes can be re-taped with new adhesive and worn again.

Who is tape-in processing suitable for

Tape-in hair is suitable for women who want a semi-permanent solution with minimal maintenance. Great for fine to medium-thick hair. We recommend application by an experienced stylist.

Tape-in hair care

Avoid oil-based products near the bonds, as they could weaken the adhesive. Brush hair carefully from the tips and use a gentle shampoo. Visit a stylist for re-taping every 6–8 weeks.

Frequently asked questions

How often do tape-in extensions need to be re-taped?▼
Re-taping is recommended every 6–8 weeks, once the tapes have grown out from the roots by about 2–3 cm. The stylist gently removes them with a special solution, cleans off adhesive residue, and re-applies them closer to the roots with new adhesive. The re-taping itself takes approximately 30–45 minutes. This way, you can wear the same hair repeatedly for many months.
Can I exercise and swim with tape-in hair?▼
Yes, tape-in hair holds firmly even during intense sports, running or cycling. After swimming in a pool with chlorine or in the sea with salt water, thoroughly rinse the hair with clean water and apply conditioner to preserve the quality of the adhesive and hair. We recommend tying hair into a braid after swimming and letting it air dry naturally. The tapes tolerate saunas and steam, but extreme heat can weaken the adhesive.
Will tape-in adhesive damage my own hair?▼
With professional application and gentle removal, no. We use hypoallergenic medical-grade adhesive that is tested for sensitive skin. During removal, the stylist applies a special solution that dissolves the adhesive, and the tapes are gently removed. Your own hair remains undamaged. Problems can only occur with home removal without the proper products — that is why we always recommend visiting a stylist.
How many tape-in tapes do I need for a full head?▼
For a natural result, 40–60 tapes (20–30 sandwich pairs) are usually applied. For subtle thickening or lengthening around the face framing area, 20–30 tapes are enough. The exact number depends on your hair density, desired volume and length. During a consultation, we will recommend the optimal number based on your hair and preferences.
Can I color my tape-in hair?▼
Yes, our tape-in hair made from natural hair can be colored, toned and highlighted. It is important not to get color on the adhesive tapes — this could weaken them. Therefore, we recommend having coloring done by an experienced stylist who works with tape-in hair. Ideally, coloring should be done before application or at least 48 hours after.
How do I know it is time for re-taping?▼
The signal for re-taping is when the tapes have grown out 2–3 cm from the roots and become visible, or when you feel they are holding less firmly. Another indicator is if the tapes start to curl or lose their shape. We do not recommend waiting too long — grown-out tapes stress your own hair and can cause unnecessary strain. Regular re-taping every 6–8 weeks ensures the best result.
Can I remove tape-in tapes by myself at home?▼
We do not recommend it. A special product is needed for gentle removal that dissolves the adhesive without damaging the hair. Home attempts at pulling off tapes can pull out or damage hair. A stylist removes the tapes in 15–30 minutes with a professional solution — the hair remains undamaged.
What hair products should I not use with tape-in?▼
Avoid oil-based and silicone products in the tape area — oils and silicones weaken the adhesive and the tapes may come loose prematurely. Apply conditioner and masks from mid-lengths to tips, not near the roots. Sulfate-free shampoo is the ideal choice.
Can I go to the sauna with tape-in hair?▼
Yes, short stays in the sauna are fine for tape-in tapes. However, extreme and prolonged heat can weaken the adhesive. We recommend wrapping your hair in a towel and letting the hair air dry naturally after the sauna. If you visit the sauna regularly, expect a shorter interval between re-taping.
How long after application should I wait before washing my hair?▼
After tape-in application, we recommend waiting 24–48 hours before washing your hair. The adhesive needs time to fully bond. During this time, also avoid intense sweating and water. After 48 hours, you can wash your hair normally.
What is the difference between tape-in and keratin extensions?▼
Tape-in hair is applied using the tape method and lasts 6–8 weeks. Keratin hair is applied with individual strands using a keratin bond and lasts 3–6 months. Tape-in application is faster (30–60 min vs. 2–3 hours), but requires more frequent re-taping. Keratin is more suitable for long-term wear, tape-in for those who want flexibility.
Are tape-in extensions suitable during pregnancy?▼
Tape-in hair can be worn during pregnancy. The hypoallergenic medical-grade adhesive is safe and does not irritate the skin. The hair does not interfere with sleep thanks to its flat profile. If in doubt, consult your doctor.
How many times can tape-in tapes be re-taped?▼
Quality natural hair from our selection can be re-taped 3–5 times with new adhesive. The total hair lifespan is 12–18 months. At each re-taping, the stylist checks the condition of the hair and recommends whether the tapes can still be used.
How to achieve a natural look with tape-in hair?▼
The key is the right color selection and number of tapes. We recommend having tape-in hair trimmed by a stylist to match the shape of your hairstyle. The transition between your own and extended hair should be smooth — that is why professional application and proper tape placement are important.
Can I have my tape-in hair highlighted?▼
Yes, tape-in hair made from real human hair can be highlighted. It is important that the stylist does not apply color directly on the adhesive tapes. Ideally, highlighting should be done on loose hair before application or with sufficient distance from the tapes. The balayage technique is particularly effective with tape-in hair.
