Will keratin bonds damage my own hair?▼
With professional application and proper removal, no. The keratin bond is gently dissolved with a special acetone-based product without damaging your hair structure. The stylist then gently removes keratin residue. It is important to always have removal done by a professional — home attempts at mechanically pulling off bonds can damage hair. We recommend a regenerating treatment after removal.
How long does keratin hair application take?▼
Application by a stylist takes 60–120 minutes depending on the number of strands (usually 100–200 pcs). It is meticulous work where each strand is applied individually — the stylist heats the keratin bond with special pliers and attaches it to a small strand of your own hair. Duration also depends on the stylist's experience. The result is invisible and lasts 3–5 months.
Can I color and blow-dry keratin hair?▼
Yes, keratin hair made from natural hair can be colored, blow-dried, straightened and curled. We recommend using a maximum temperature of 180 °C and always applying heat protection. When blow-drying, avoid direct hot air flow on the keratin bonds. Coloring is best done by a stylist who will ensure the color does not damage the keratin bonds. Regular treatment with hair oil keeps the hair shiny and healthy.
How many keratin strands do I need?▼
For natural lengthening and thickening, 100–150 strands are usually applied. For a dramatic full-length and volume effect, 150–200 strands may be needed. The number depends on your own hair density, desired length and overall effect. During a consultation, the stylist will recommend the optimal number — the goal is a natural look where the extensions are not visible.
Can I go to the sauna or on a beach vacation with keratin hair?▼
Yes, keratin bonds are very durable and withstand regular contact with water, sweat and sea salt. After swimming in the sea or pool, thoroughly rinse your hair with clean water. The sauna does not damage the bonds, but we recommend tying your hair in a loose braid. On vacation, protect your hair from UV rays — just like your own hair, extended hair also benefits from UV protection.
What happens if a keratin bond falls out?▼
Occasionally, an individual bond may come loose — most often due to oil-based products near the bonds or too thin a strand of your own hair. This is not a defect; the stylist simply reattaches the strand during a regular check-up. We recommend a check-up with the stylist every 4–6 weeks to inspect bond condition and adjust any loose bonds.
How are keratin extensions removed?▼
The stylist applies a special acetone-based product to each bond, which dissolves the keratin bond. Then the strand is gently pulled off with pliers. The process is gentle and takes 30–60 minutes for the entire head. No damage remains on your own hair — only fine keratin residue that the stylist removes.
Can I reapply keratin immediately after removal?▼
We recommend waiting 1–2 weeks between removal and new application. During this time, treat your hair with a regenerating treatment to recover. If your hair is in good condition, the stylist may perform the application sooner — it depends on individual assessment.
Can I exercise with keratin hair?▼
Yes, keratin bonds are very durable and hold even during intense exercise. Tie your hair in a braid or bun so the bonds do not tangle. After swimming in a pool or sea, thoroughly rinse your hair with clean water. Sweat does not harm the bonds.
What is the difference between keratin and micro ring extensions?▼
Keratin uses heat to fuse the bonds — it holds more firmly and longer (3–6 months). Micro ring uses mechanical rings without heat — it is gentler, but requires more frequent adjustment (every 6–8 weeks). Keratin is more suitable for long-term wear, micro ring for sensitive hair or chemical allergies.
Can I repair a keratin bond myself at home?▼
We do not recommend home repairs of keratin bonds. Special pliers with precise temperature are needed for proper application. Home attempts can lead to hair damage or an improper bond that will not hold. Always visit a stylist.
How do I know it is time to remove keratin hair?▼
The signal is when bonds have grown out 3–4 cm from the roots and become visible, or when you feel individual strands pulling. Usually after 3–5 months. We do not recommend wearing keratin hair longer than 6 months — overly grown-out bonds stress the roots of your own hair.
What is the maximum straightening temperature with keratin hair?▼
We recommend a maximum of 180 °C and always with heat protection. Do not apply the straightener directly on keratin bonds — they could fuse or change shape. Straighten only the free length of hair, at least 5 cm away from the bonds.
Is keratin hair suitable for fine hair?▼
Yes, keratin is suitable even for fine hair, provided the stylist uses thinner strands and smaller bonds. The key is not to overload your own hair with too many strands. An experienced stylist will adjust bond size and strand count so the result is natural and does not stress the hair.
How much do keratin hair extensions cost?▼
The price consists of the hair cost (based on weight, length and category) and the processing cost for keratin bonds. Starting from approximately 7,000 CZK for a complete extension. We will prepare an exact calculation based on your requirements — consultation is free.
